CLIMAXX - The Making Of

THE CLIMAXX PROJECT

The Climaxx Project was created and designed by the Fashion Designer Rose Thurmes. Her work seeks to explore the issues of climate change and raise our awareness to a Portraiture of a symbol, an Alpha animal. She reflects upon the dire situation of the polar bear (Ursus maritimus). A mighty animal that sleeps on cakes of ice, the frosting of the earth. In an environment where cold winds howl and vicious storms blow,  a cold so fierce, forty below. Only few other, than the enduring polar bear, can survive in these harsh climates. 
But they are in danger. Because our environment is in danger. The one we share with them. Not only is our Blatant disrespect evident in the destruction we do to our home, the earth, but also in our treatment of its inhabitants, fauna and flora.
This oeuvre Highlights here as well the use of Faux Fur rather than animal fur, enabling us to have the perceptive pleasure of fur, without its dire history of abuse, torture and neglect. This displays a positive way of thinking in the fashion industry.
THe Custom 3D JEWELLERY SYMBOLISES the melting Polar ice, enveloping the ICE BEAR, strangling his neck, cuffing him down, restraining him to a slow demise, almost unheard in the cold winds of THe north, out of sight and out of mind. Water is revered as a symbol of youth and life, until you drown.

THE IRON.IC PROJECT

The fashion designer Rose Thurmes conceptualised &
Crafted this stunningly captivating dark icon. 

Tough & sweet. Rough & Cute. The Blossoming of innocence into a forbidden fruit. Edgy and  sturdy on the crust yet soft and molten on the inside. Portraying the transformation of youth and innocence into a strong and WILL FULL woman, the dress manages to catch the eye. It Entices its beholder with a supersize bowtie, reminiscent of a present. Yet the dark leather textured surfaces gives it a sturdy and rigid look. Sparkled with rivets in a beautiful organic pattern, this dress surely has the edge it takes to surmount any challenge, but in style. A Modern Fairytale.
